Anime Vanguards Ascensions Guide

Ascensions are long-term roster decisions. Duplicates can be power, trade value, evolution insurance, or collection value depending on the unit.

Fast ascension rule

  1. Ascend units that stay useful across several modes or define a current route.
  2. Hold duplicates when trade demand, update risk, or evolution needs are unclear.
  3. Do not ascend just because a duplicate is sitting in inventory.
  4. Compare ascension value with trait rerolls, stat chips, and evolution cost first.
Highest account impact

Main carry ascension

A unit that appears in several modes and already has a good trait.

Avoid
Do not ascend a fresh pull before checking mode fit.
Long-term roster value

Limited / hard-to-replace unit

Units with supply pressure, strong evolved forms, or proven mode utility.

Avoid
Limited supply does not automatically mean high practical value.
Team utility route

Support ascension

Support units that stay in teams even when DPS carries change.

Avoid
Ascension may be low value if support scaling is not the bottleneck.
Inventory decision

Duplicate management

Extra copies of units you will keep using.

Avoid
Do not consume a copy that might be needed for trade, evolution, or collection.
Patch-risk control

Hold duplicates

Before major updates, balance changes, or uncertain meta shifts.

Avoid
Immediate ascension can lock you into a bad read of the meta.

Best candidates to inspect first

Open the unit profile and DPS calculator for any unit before using duplicates. Strong names still need mode fit, traits, and upgraded performance.
