Elements are mechanic tags, not decoration. They can change debuff resistance, team support, boss damage, damage reduction handling, cleanse value, or critical routes.

Fast element rule

Start with unit role and mode. Then use the element to answer a specific problem: debuffs, boss pressure, range support, critical rate, or enemy damage reduction.

Spark

Immunity to damage-reducing debuffs.

Nature

Immunity to range-reducing debuffs.

Fire and Passion can reward matching-unit placement when the team is built around the element.
